Dear neighbors,
I got to thinking the other day after I made my donation to FPF, about how The Valley Reporter continues to be there for us in this community as well. I appreciate FPF for its part in local communities, allowing neighbors to share opinions, trade goods and create open and, hopefully, respectful dialogue and discourse, which has been greatly appreciated during these recent days of “shelter in place.” FPF is a way for neighbor to reach out to neighbor.
The Valley Reporter is our local weekly newspaper that has been our go-to source for accurate and vetted information for over 40 years – news we can count on. The VR employs six local people and provides benefits. These employees work 24/7 keeping the website and social media sites with updated facts about current events and issues within our community and the state. I wondered how the Reporter was handling this difficult financial time and realized that I could help by purchasing a two-year subscription for only $40. That comes to a modest savings of about $10 over purchasing weekly for 75 cents a paper, but, more importantly, my subscription gives The Valley Reporter some working capital to use to get through this crisis and to have a better chance at keeping their employees on the payroll. In fact, I added a donation on top of the $40 subscription (matching what I donated to FPF last week), so that I can do my part in supporting The Valley Reporter in sticking around another 49 years. The Waterbury Record published its final weekly edition just last week, and it would be a huge loss if The Valley Reporter had to do the same.
Please join me if you can to buy a subscription to The Valley Reporter. They will accept sponsorships of any amount as well. Every bit helps. You can send your check to The Valley Reporter, P.O. Box 119, Waitsfield, VT 05673, or call 802-496-3607 to make a credit card payment or visit www.valleyreporter.com and click on the donate button to donate safely via PayPal.
Thank you, Valley Reporter!
