To The Editor:
I learned recently that Brian Shupe will be running for the select board seat I currently occupy and cherish. He was kind enough to inform me of that fact early this week. I reciprocated by thanking him for the advanced word. The health of any democratic process depends, in large part, on people willing to step forward and welcome the rigors of public scrutiny in an election. I know and like Brian and appreciate his interest in running for a public post. We are currently engaged in many significant town issues, led by the continuing serious controversy over of the proposed option tax, yet to be decided by voters.
I tip my cap to Brian for jumping in.
