To The Editor:

All the misguided proposals over the last year for school district redesign involve some form of moving Valley students to Waterbury. I guess I've been a little slow to realize the obvious solution. We need to build new or repurpose a school to create a new middle school in The Valley for the students coming from our four excellent Valley elementary schools and create an equally excellent Valley Middle School. A grades six to eight school would have close to the same number of students as Crossett Brook. We need to keep these students in The Valley for the energy and economic vitality they provide.

If you have ideas about this please email the Harwood Unified Union School District Board at This email address is being protected from spambots. I say to Brigid Nease and her (unnamed) associates and anyone else that wants to move our students to Waterbury: You can't have our kids!
