To The Editor:
Dear Vermont friends and neighbors,
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as a Waitsfield trustee on our consolidated Harwood Unified Union School District (HUUSD) Board these past several years. While the issues facing our public schools are challenging, let us all remember that we are blessed with talented teachers, hard-working staff, visionary administrators, a supportive community and, best of all, a raft of remarkable young Vermonters who are counting on us to support them as they learn and grow. Can our HUUSD schools continue to offer meaningful K-12 educational opportunities for all of our students for the fewest possible property tax dollars? We can – but only if we continue to collectively lean into the realities before us and take responsibility for responsibly investing in our kids, our schools and our future. With this charge in mind, I urge all registered voters to vote yes in support of our HUUSD budget on Tuesday, March 5, at Town Meeting Day.
