To The Editor:

I don't normally voice an opinion on issues on which there has been long discussions, but I am making an exception.

I will keep it brief.

I am not against the tax. In fact, properly structured it could solve one of the most pressing issues The Valley faces.

But I am against raising a pot of money governed by a board that is too far removed from my vote looking for ways to spend it.

But dedicating a tax (amount TBD) to affordable housing would receive my approval. This would be governed by a knowledgeable board with representatives from all stakeholders.

And it could have a term limit or specific amount on it.
