To the Editor:

I must take issue with Mary Laulis’ “stunned” statement. I despise the Democratic party probably more than she does but the Republicans take all the awards for hypocrisy.  The Dems don’t even come close.  I won’t even go into the Republican birther nonsense.  But the Republicans unconstitutionally blocked Obama’s Supreme Court nominee without even a hearing.  Talk about acting like Stalinists.  Were any of your fair-minded people stunned back then?

The American Bar Association (ABA), which had given Kavanaugh high marks, urged the judiciary committee to halt the confirmation process until the FBI had completed an investigation into the sexual harassment charges.  The Republicans refused.  So any of you “fair minded” and “stunned” citizens should look to the Republican party for answers to your questions about ethical behavior.  But this issue has nothing to do with the Sixth Amendment to the Constitution.  This is not a criminal trial.  This is a guy trying to get a high-paying, important job for the rest of his life.

Brett Kavanaugh is applying for a lifetime position on the highest court in the land.  Besides being a total Republican operative and being an over-the-top anti-choice judge, he has shown a propensity for hostility toward women.  He’s not qualified to be a Supreme Court justice.
