To The Editor:

Waitsfield’s finances are spiraling out of control and the select board does not have a handle on the town’s long-term financial commitments. This situation will lead to serious financial problems.

The board does not appear to understand how much the town owes, but the members continue to keep voting to spend money on unnecessary projects such as the “pocket park,” playgrounds, walking trails and new furniture.

I am voting for change! Jerry Miller, a longtime resident of Waitsfield and an independent businessman, has operated a successful auto repair business for more than 30 years. Jerry Miller understands that a town that is not growing cannot continue to spend and take on debt for unnecessary projects or there will be a serious crisis that will hurt all our residents, young and old.

That is why I am voting for Jerry Miller.
