To The Editor:
Almost every week I read about the pocket park in The Valley Reporter, but my question has not been answered. Over two years ago I asked the select board to explain to me just what gave the board the authority to purchase this property (so-called pocket park) and pay 75 percent more than the appraised value? I asked again about a year ago and one member said it was grandfathered. I asked what was grandfathered? She said she didn’t know and she is running for re-election.
Due to the fact that I have not received an answer, it appears to me that this was an unauthorized, therefore illegal, transaction.
