To The Editor:
Olin Potter, I am sorry that the highlight of your memory of Mehuron’s Store is a recollection of the “town drunk” whose name you don’t know. I know his name and he was my neighbor. I also have fond memories of him. If your only recollection of him is as the town drunk you missed the man. Yes, he drank and provided us natives with stories to tell. However, you did not know his life or his battles. Remember, he lived in a time when there was little or no help and asking for help was usually taken as a sign of weakness. I am glad I knew Alex Hamel. Be thankful for what you have.
