It’s morel season and folks near and far are out staring at the dead leaves in and around their homes for the elusive and amazing morel mushrooms. Morels are a delicious seasonal treat that also freeze well. Here is a recipe from Ron Kerner via Real Simple.
Dip morels in an egg wash, dredging them with seasoned flour or breadcrumbs and frying the morels in butter or cooking oil until they are golden brown and crispy.
You can also saute morels like you would other types of mushrooms or pan-fry them.
(Editor’s Note: Don’t use oil, use the best butter money can buy!)
