To The Editor:

On Thursday, October 17, at 7 p.m., there will be a talk and an opportunity to ask questions at the Big Picture Theater in Waitsfield. This talk will be given by Arnie Gundersen, a nuclear engineer whose website is fairewinds.com. He was a whistleblower many years back while working in the nuclear industry. He now lives in Burlington and reports on the ongoing Fukushima nuclear disaster and also its relevance to U.S. nuclear plants of the same design.

His podcasts and blogs have been translated into Japanese and he has twice visited Japan at the invitation of Japanese groups (not the government). He does not go into health risks but does show in detail the safety situation.

As Fukushima's four affected reactors have not been contained or fixed in any way, it would seem a good idea to get informed, as nothing is discussed in the regular media.
