In only its second season as a team with the Harwood Youth Hockey program, the girls' U-12 squad is the winner of the Vermont State AB Championship. The Harwood girls won the championship game over opponent Northshire in a 4-2 victory on Saturday, February 27, at the Ice Center of Washington West in Waterbury. Valley voters came, they debated, they voted and they ate lunch on Town Meeting Day, March 2.
Voters from Duxbury to Warren spent the day discussing budgets, special articles, school finances, Vermont Yankee, classroom size and procedural issues this year.

On Monday, March 1, the Harwood Union boys' alpine ski team competed in the VPA
state championships held at Lincoln Peak at Sugarbush. In a competitive field of 14 teams, the Harwood boys placed a respectable sixth overall in the two-event competition. The Vermont Festival of the Arts organizers are finalizing the August calendar for the 13th annual event.
