To The Editor:

Well, only a few more days until Town Meeting with many big money issues as well as select board members to be voted on. With the country and our state heading for many "fiscal cliffs," makes one wonder if Waitsfield is headed in the same direction! Folks, FEMA money, grant monies, etc. may soon be a thing of the past, so let's not assume they will be out there. Let's fix what's broke and hold off on other excessive spending.

Last year, out of 1,415 registered voters, only 493 voters cast ballots! Are you willing to allow 35 percent of the people to make decisions that will affect your life for years to come? Why register to vote if you don't exercise your right to do so? You don't have to take a day off from work to attend Town Meeting, just take five minutes between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on March 5 to vote! You say no one listens? Now's your chance to be heard and maybe make a difference. Oh, and I am in full support of Scott Kingsbury and Chris Pierson for the select board positions. They seem to want us to be headed in the right direction.
