I read two or three books at a time. I finished Chris Bohjalian’s Sandcastle Girls the other day…a horrifying book about the massacre of Armenians.
So, I needed something a bit lighter and dashed off to the library and grabbed 8 or 10 books.
I started reading Lisa Gardner's Catch Me If You Can and almost put it down as I thought it was another murder-mystery/bodice-ripper, but something grabbed me and I am very pleased to have continued to read it as I learned something every parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle should know about.
There are some chapters in this book about predators of children
These sickos play children’s games on their computers, pretending to be kids and use the “games” to identify and lure their victims.
Even though the sites are supposed to be secure, these predators are there, 24/7.
So I urge all parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, to read this book. If you don’t like the murder-mystery parts, find the pages that have to do with sexual predators/child molesters. They’re out there, folks, and this is great information to have to protect your loved ones.
BTW, 14-year-old girls are not the most sought after prey…little boys are.
