For The Record

Due to using the wrong copy of the Harwood Unified Union School District (HUUSD) budget for reference, The Valley Reporter's February 16 story about the unified union district's budget for the coming year includes several numerical errors.

The story reported the 2017-2018 budget as $36,144,313, a 2.7 percent increase. The final budget approved by the board and included in the warning is $36,294,313, or a 3.2 percent increase.

The article reported that the unified tax rate would be $1.55; it will be $1.56.

The article reported that teachers were being cut. They are not.

Per-pupil spending will be $16,677 versus $16,595.

Due to a typo, the amount of money being put into a maintenance fund reserve for all was reported as $3,022,108 for Harwood only. That sum is actually $302,108.
