Mad River basketball teams seeking players

The Mad River basketball teams are looking for boys and girls in grades three through six interested in playing this season. Practices are during the week and games are played on Saturdays. First annual Mad River Valley Turkey Trot

The first annual Mad River Valley Turkey Trot, hosted by the Warren School PTO, is scheduled for Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 24. Participants are invited to run, trot, walk or stroll the 2.8-mile course that starts at the Warren School, winds around Warren Village, and ends at the Warren School. Registration is scheduled for 9 to 9:30 a.m. at the Warren School; the trot begins at 10 a.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Warren School. Thunder Road announces separate banquets

For the first time in several years, the American-Canadian Tour has announced separate banquets for the 2011 ACT competitors and the 2011 Thunder Road competitors. The ACT Late Model Tour (US) and the Série ACT Castrol (Canada) Banquet of Champions will be held at the Doubletree Inn in Burlington, on Saturday, January 21, while the Thunder Road Banquet of Champions will be at the Elks Club in Barre on Saturday, December 10. Both banquets will feature a social hour, dinner and award presentations followed by a live DJ. The Thunder Road Banquet of Champions at the Barre Elks Club on December 10 will have the social hour beginning at 6 p.m. followed by dinner. The ACT Banquet will have the same format at the Doubletree Inn in Burlington on January 21.
