To The Editor:

In response to Frank Covino's "Frank 'n' Stein" piece that ran in last week's Valley Reporter, I am prompted to write. I've lost touch with Frank Covino. The year Frank is referring to was 1964, not 1962 – small difference. I remember it well; I was there. I was one of the waitresses serving at the "Welcome to Sugarbush" dinner given for Stein at the not-quite-completed Golden Horse Lodge. Along with fellow ski bums, I was waiting for the first snow. And then it poured instead....

Signs reading "Stay off the grass" popped up and were quickly removed by Sugarbush management.

Trent and I are now living – and skiing – in Taos, New Mexico.

Thank you.
