To The Editor:

The rampaging vines choking the life out of many trees and shrubs in the Mad River Valley will only increase if left unattended. If the vines are cut at the base – not a difficult chore – and removed, the rest of the vine will die off and the tree will be saved.

The same applies to the sumacs, which are ugly and are invading roadsides, highways and private property.

It's a small effort that will save the natural beauty of Vermont.

Do a good deed and help restore our trees.
