Set the record straight

To The Editor:

In order to set the record straight, the Warren Planning Commission on two instances reviewed the proposed conservation easement for the Eaton property (as developed by the Vermont Land Trust).

At the conclusion of these meetings and after careful and thoughtful discussion, the Warren Planning Commission unanimously voted that we support the ongoing conservation of the Eaton parcel. However, it remains our position that the future of this important piece of land remain in the hands of the people of Warren under the direction of the Warren Select Board as well as the watchful eye of the Warren Conservation Commission, and not to be administered by an out-of-town administrative body (the Vermont Land Trust). There currently exists, and we fully support, the excellent management plan for this parcel which has been thoughtfully developed by the Warren Conservation Commission.
