To The Editor:

My name is Buddy Barnett and I am applying for the job of representing you in the Vermont state Senate in Montpelier. Over the years I’ve witnessed many changes in Vermont and in our country, some great, some good and some not so good.

In each instance, I’ve tried to take a lesson from these developments. As baseball great Yogi Berra once said, “You can observe a lot by watching,” and I might add, “You can hear a lot by listening.”

Over the past few months I have been listening closely to what the residents of Washington County are saying and what I’ve learned is that they want to hear straight talk and they want to see fair play. They want…

  • more good jobs
  • a crackdown on criminal activity
  • sustained attention to protecting our natural resources
  • a concentration of initiatives to reduce the cost of living in Vermont
  • And most importantly they want their voices to be heard in Montpelier.

If you share these concerns with me and with your fellow Vermonters, I ask for your vote Tuesday, November 6. Send your message loud and clear with a vote for Buddy Barnett for Washington County Senate.

Bernard “Buddy” Barnett
