To The Editor:

At an overflow meeting Monday night, the Valley Democrats unanimously endorsed Maxine Grad for the office of state representative.

She is running for one of two seats representing the new legislative district known as Washington 7. The district was created as a result of redistricting based on the 2010 census. It consists of five towns: Duxbury, Fayston, Moretown, Waitsfield and Warren.

 Maxine Grad is presently a state representative who has 12 years of experience serving in the Legislature, including service as vice-chair of the House Judiciary Committee. Her campaign will stress her emphasis on health and safety issues, promotion of child and family welfare and the sustainability of vitality of our community.

The Valley Democrats meet on the second and fourth Monday of the month at 5:15 p.m. at the office of Eastern Systems.
