Saturday, May 5, 2012 was the opening day for the Mad River Valley Little League. Due to flood damage from Tropical Storm Irene opening ceremonies had to be moved from the Couple's Club Field in Waitsfield to the Warren Recreation Field in Warren.

The Warren Fire Department led the opening day parade up to the field where Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin spoke and greeted players.
