The Bridge Street Art Fair

The first annual Bridge Street Art Fair will take place from 2 to 8 p.m., Saturday, May 18, on Bridge Street and the surrounding areas. It will feature a variety of activities, presentations, open studios, artists, entertainment as well as a silent auction benefiting the Fayston PTO. Storefronts and windows will contain displays of student artwork, celebrating the arts at all levels and supporting the connection between local schools and the community.

This inaugural event is free for all ages and will have a wide selection family-friendly activities such as face painting, pottery demonstrations, printmaking, henna tattoos, friendship bracelet making, flag painting and much more. There will also be performances by hip-hop dancers and live music from Rob Dasaro and friends. The event will open with a Kids Bike Parade that will start with decorating at the Waitsfield Elementary School at 1:30 p.m. and end on the Bridge Street green at the back of the Bridge Street Marketplace.

Nora McDonough, art teacher at Waitsfield and Fayston schools, is organizing the event with the help from students, community members and business owners.
