Sugarbush Resort receives national recognition

In Ski Magazine's annual "Top 50 Resort Guide," on newsstands September 25, Sugarbush ranks seventh overall in the East in the magazine's poll of the best resorts on the continent.

This is one of the highest rankings ever received by Sugarbush and marks a steady upward trend for the resort. In 2003 Sugarbush was ranked 19th, last season 13th. The annual readers' survey, now in its 20th year, is considered the definitive ranking of North American ski resorts.
"We've always known the 'Bush is a special place, but climbing 12 spots in only four years clearly shows just how committed our team is to making Sugarbush a better resort year over year," said Sugarbush president Win Smith. "The improvements we've made over the last three to four years, both in the new base facilities and the quality of terrain we provide, are really making a difference to our guests' experience," he added.
According to Ski Magazine, nearly 7,000 subscribers responded to the "Top 50 Resort Guide" survey, which was conducted by an independent research firm. The annual resort survey is the most comprehensive and longest-running ski resort survey in the winter sports industry. Resorts are ranked in 18 categories: Overall Satisfaction, Access, Après Ski, Dining, Family Programs, Grooming, Lifts, Lodging, Off-Hill Activities, On-mountain Food, Scenery, Service, Snow, Terrain/Challenge, Terrain/Variety, Terrain Parks, Value and Weather by <MI>Ski<D> subscribers who have skied the resorts for the past two seasons, skiing an average of 23 days a year.
Sugarbush saw significant jumps in 15 out of the survey's 18 categories, including a second-place ranking for the Resort's variety of terrain and fifth-place rating in Overall Satisfaction.
