To The Editor:

In the paper two weeks ago, there was a picture of the Democrats’ Rally in The Valley at the Big Picture Theater.  On the stage, behind several speakers, was a large American flag (made in USA in those days).  Some readers may – or may not – have noticed that it had 48 stars!  Its condition, when I acquired it, told me that it was very old and it is very fragile.

In 1970, I bought an old farmhouse in the lower Hudson Valley, furnishings and all.  Since there was a large flagpole on the front lawn, I'm sure that this flag has more than done its duty, and I am very, very glad to have it.
