Potential risk to pedestrians

To The Editor:

Two weeks ago, on Thursday April 26, my friend (who wishes to remain anonymous as he doesn't want to alarm his young children) was running on the Mad River Rec. Path when he was nearly hit with a bullet. The incident occurred at 5:20 p.m. several hundred yards from the parking area on Tremblay Road.

The police were notified immediately but disappointingly have had no response. The purpose of this letter is as a request to all to please keep in mind that this path is a community recreation area and is used by many Valley residents. In the future, anyone using a firearm in the vicinity (whether hunting or practicing) needs to be aware of the potential risk to pedestrians.
