To The Editor:
I'm lucky. I got to ski on the big snow days this year. They either fell on weekends or I snuck up to the mountain at lunch for a few runs (laps if we're talking about Nordic). I'm lucky because not only did I nail the good days but I skied the best terrain in the east (sorry, Stowe) which happens to be within 10 minutes of my house.
I'm lucky because I got both my kids on the mountain this year and we can ski as a family again (and it wasn't too cold for them). I'm lucky because all the places I chose to ski/skate are locally owned and the owners are all reinvesting in their facilities. I'm lucky because they staff their businesses with conscientious, polite and motivated people. I'm lucky because the owners/managers of these entities try to do business locally.
Great job Sugarbush, Mad River, Skatium, Ole's and Blueberry Lake. Thanks for the hard work, the great conditions and making me feel lucky.
