To the Editor:

In honor of our grandmothers, mothers, sisters, wives, partners and daughters, remember to celebrate March 8 -- International Women's Day.

As you think of the achievements of the women you know, rest assured that you are standing with millions who are also honoring women on this day, in 21 countries from India to Italy, Australia to Zambia. For many, just publicly celebrating women is an act of courage.

The Vermont Women's Fund -- part of the worldwide women's funding Network -- salutes women around the world and here in the United States, working for equal opportunities, dignity and recognition of the jobs they do at home and in the workplace.

We are especially proud to salute the women of Vermont -- and the hundreds of organizations statewide working to ensure that Vermont's women and girls realize their potential -- every day!
