To The Editor:
Over a year ago, the Warren Select Board invited the Library Commission to consider relocating the Warren Library to the first floor of the Town Hall, so that both the Library and the Municipal Building could have additional space. Since that time much planning, research and consideration have taken place including a survey to learn the interests and concerns of residents and an informational meeting open to the community.
The move will be voted on at Town Meeting on March 6. Both the Library Commission and The Friends of the Warren Library would like voters to be as informed as possible about the following questions:
• Why Town Hall?
• What changes will be made to Town Hall?
• How will the community benefit from an accessible Town Hall?
• How is this plan more cost effective than other options?
• Where will the money come from?
• What benefits will library patrons gain?
• What other benefits will result from a move?
If you would like the answers to these and other questions, stop by the library on Thursday, February 8, between 5 and 8 p.m., when The Friends of the Warren Library are hosting an Open House for residents to discover and discuss the plans for the move. We'll have architectural drawings, handouts, tours of both locations and some great refreshments.
