To The Editor:
Spring is here and that means a lot of walkers on the back roads. My concern is the ones walking on the right hand side of the road. This is extremely dangerous for both pedestrian and the motorist when it occurs on the brow of a hill. Many times they walk two abreast on the pavement. There is a state law, which is not enforced, that states that where sidewalks are not available pedestrians will walk on the left side of the highway. It seems like common sense and a wee bit of intelligence would tell you not to turn your back on that car or truck that is creeping up on you. Maybe the sheriff should stop and give a ticket instead of stopping cars.
